Texting while biking legal?

The good thing about a loud and vibrating Harley engine is that shields me from the "beep" and vibration of my mobile phone alerts, so I don't know I have messages and therefore I won't reply to any. Why should I? I'm busy riding. Whoever text me need to wait till I stop fuelling up assuming I can be bothered about checking the phone.

I don't pack a cell phone, never have, probably never will.
What happened when you had to make a call 30 years ago?
Cell phones have made the world a colder unfriendlier place, texting has made it even more so.

Because of the way I ride do not want any distractions.Phone is always powered down.Same thing applies to having anything on the bike that does not need to be there for it to function. To each his/her own.In this state if you get caught with a cell phone stuck to the side of your head do not be surprized if you get pulled over.
