One of the benefits of the military is not having to pay those outrageous bills. Granted we pay for it in different ways. That is one of the things i am not looking forward to when i retire in ten years is paying a crap tone for health insurance.

 

We have an excellent safety program where I work. We have certain areas that require PPE, such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and ear protection. It doesn't matter if you are passing through and are no where near the machines. This kind of attention to safety is one reason why at my location we've gone over 11 years without a loss time accident. Our company of over 3,400 employees, most working in a manufacturing environment, has a better safety record than the bank industry. A lot of people have been fired for not following safety procedures.

Safety glasses are a must. with me i found out the had way

 

During a checkup my eye doctor found lots of what he called trash in my eyes and dug it out. I wasn't having any problems he just found it. When he learned I rode a motor he said the wind must have blown it into my eyes and suggested I wear goggles instead of sunglasses.

It costs what it does for the following reasons (has nothing to do with Obama)

1. Malpractice insurance premiums
2. Uninsured patients and/or those who don't pay the bill.
3. You pay not for the act of fixing the problem but instead for the KNOWLEDGE the doctor has to fix the problem.
4. Medical school loans have to be paid off. Who's going to pay? You.

 

About 30 years ago I was over at a buddies house. He was cleaning up a motor he was building using a wire wheel. Sure enough he got one of those wires right in his eye. I gave him a ride to the eye Dr and got to watch him dig it out. After that we both wear safety glasses all the time.

 

I used to do autobody work. Lots of grinding and stuff like that. I used to get **** in my eyes all the time. I'd just go to the mirror, grab a q-tip and get whatever it was out. That was when I was in my twenties. Now that I'm 58 my eyes can't see good enough up close to do that anymore. So now I wear safety glasses, not always as I should, but more often than in the past.

 

I found super glue works great. Ex never appreciated me using it on the kids, but it worked and left minimal scars. Middle daughter proudly shared those stories with her kids!

 

No problem paying my own bills, just don't care to pay the lazy POSs that choose not to work for a living. That's what BO care is forcing me to do.
