Amen. Ride as you like and ignore the "What not To Wear" wannabe fashion commentators!

Agreed, wear whatever you want and stop getting upset if people don't like your chaps, that's gay.

If you're a guy and your chaps are pink with tassles, that would that be gay. Other than that, they are for comfort in the cold and protection from the morons on the road. It was 38 this morning and I was the only bike on the road, it was nice.

Bought a pair of chaps from Papa's Leather Barn. They're the buffalo leather. Anyway...I bought them for the same reason, to wear when it's cold. They have removable snap-in liners, and are quite cozy in the cooler temps. In Colorado, it's not uncommon to start a ride at 35* and halfway thru be at 75*.

They're great for keeping me warm, but they're also nice for quick sprinkles too. The times when full-on rain gear would be too much.

Also, I like to wear them on longer rides too. Rode to SLC from Colorado Springs a few weeks ago. Chaps were nice to keep my jeans from whipping around for 12 hours....

I wear mine when the temps get uncomfortably low....like now in the mornings. I also wear them in the summer if doing a road trip of any distance. They keep all the road crap and oil, bugs, etc from splattering my jeans. If I get to hot, off they come and into the saddlebags. Just have to remember to wear jeans under them.

You are so right about that. It's sorta like you met a long time friend..... it's a closer bond....(no homo)

I where them when it's cold. On a recent trip home from the drag race's. (300 mi.). The warmest part of the day was 45 degrees and damp, I was comfortable all the way back home. Spring and fall they work!!!
