It's official - still a bit chilly in Blighty, but me and the wallet are back on the road!

Been about a month since I saw another bike on the road. I'll admit to taking a break the past 5 days myself too though. Snow and/or sand on the roads. Back in the saddle today.

I love that term "wallet bikers". So, did all the rest of you either have your bikes given to you, won it in a contest or did you steal it?

No salt on the roads in the UK yet, so the year's not over. But it is now time to dig out those heated gloves!

This wallet biker put the bike away yesterday. Just not tough enough to ride in 20deg weather and 3 or more inches of snow

I commute to work on my bike everyday (except when my boss is in town and I need to drive him around to see customers), and I do notice a slight dip in ridership during the week. Not a huge dip, just a slight dip.

It doesn't get that cold in San Jose. In the mornings sometimes it's in the mid-40's, but it warms up quickly (to the high 50's or low 60's). It gets cool at night (low 40's sometimes). Once in a great while we get freezing temps (low 30's), but not often.

However, I definitely see less bikes on the roads on weekends around here.

Got my Gerbings controller in today. The Captain Itch thing a mobob holder will be here probably tomorrow. I had the on/off switch last winter and the controller should be a bit easier to use and regulate the heat. So I'm ready for the blasted cold.
