Periodic rain and upper 30's. Got every thing done today so I was able to sneak in a 80 mile loop.

Only wallet biker out there today.

My guess is that 99% of the posters on this thread have never ridden a bike more than 1000 miles from home. But you do commute to your job. Same boring route twice a day, day after day. Good for you. Ride safe.

1973 cross country trip NY to CA, on kawasaki 500 triple 2stroke engine(if and of you guys know what a 2 stroke is )
I ride bwcause its FUN not because I have to. riding to work sucks especially when it 100 degrees out, rather enjoy my ice cold AC and sirrus radio. but you go and ride your ride that what makes you happy.

Back in the service I'd bought a Honda 500 four, and my next in command had I think a Suzuki 350 two stroke that would hang with it. But you didn't want to be BEHIND him!

If it doesn't reach at least 50F for the HI temp of the day, I generally won't go out. When it does that, as soon as the sun goes down you can just feel the temperature drop minute-by-minute to 35F and my hands just don't like being that cold.

On the other hand, I STILL don't have a windshield, and I've been repeatedly told that it helps SO much... I'm thinking I might try to buy one this season coming up. I have done all the major upgrades I've wanted to do to my bike (except the paint job), so throwing ~$350 towards just a piece of plastic seems not so bad an idea now.

I have a windshield but I think heated gloves make a bigger difference.

Overcast damp 30's temps today so I only did 112 miles. Stopped at an HD dealer for free chili, cookies and punch or coffee. Was a big event with a local radio station, discounts and collecting toys for tots and receive an additonal 10% off.

The square island apparel counter had 4 clerks who could hardly keep up with the people buying stuff.

Parts man gave me a new 13 parts and accessories catalog. Put it under my shirt and it keep my belly warm on the ride home.

It will grab and keep you. Check out Memphis shades if you want to save some bucks, but be real careful what you wipe it with; they scratch easier than an OEM shield. I always start with a wet spray and MF cloth. Really dirty from rain and such I shoot with the hose first.
Cold riding is all about gear, not gutz. Gutz helps tho. (Gutz meaning determination, passion; not bravery)

30 degree's out, 3 or 4" of snow, with a few more expected, and they'll laying salt down like they don't have to pay for it.

Riding season is over for me, and anybody else here with half a brain.

Time to get the bike on the stand and start working on next years mods.
And get the snow blower out..
