Wearing a full face helmet on a Harley ...Yea or Nay ?

Yeah...i was on a trip up north the other day and got passed by a large group of a well known MC. I noticed that probably 1/3 of them were wearing FF.
Personally I own both, but I prefer FF unless its 95+ outside. I installed some helmet speakers in my FF. So I hook it up to Pandora on my iphone and love it.

I wear a half helmet all the time during the hot *** summers here, usually around this time of year I bust out the FF. I'll also wear it when I know I'm going to get rain or when taking a long trip on the interstate.
I too noticed the 1%'ers around here all wear FF helmets. I thought it was so they couldn't be recognized, but it being one less thing the po-po could harrass them about makes more sense.

The FF is an obvious choice for cold weather riding (unless you enjoy frostbite on your nose), but I also wear one in summer, or at least wear a 3/4 with full shield in summer, because of the BUGS. I live in humid farm-y country, and when I get home I have had splattered critters *covering* my shield. Sometimes it's to the point that I will clean it 1/2 way through my trip. (The big ones aren't even the problem... I'll take a few good grasshopper hits over the 1 million gnats wallpapering my field of vision, lol.)
Oh uh, and they say FF's are safer too.

I switched from a half helmet to a Shoei full face when I got stationed in England. I wish I would have done it sooner. I will never wear anything else.

I wear a FF commuting back and forth to work about 99% of the time. Too much debris out on the highways. Dirt and bugs, among other things, hitting you in the face at 80 hurts like hell!
In my experience and observations if you spend enough time on the turnpike you will see most riders wearing a FF.

I pick my Bell Vortex full face over my Custom 500 3/4 helmet pretty much all the time now. Less wind noise, less getting hit in the face with stuff. Ive worn the full face for hours in temperatures over 100 degrees. I just crack the visor open a little for airflow when needed. (the visor locks in position when opened a little for airflow)
