Why did you tell me to do a search?

Why did you tell me to do a search?
I'm representing everybody out there.
Can't you make the assumption that I or we already did a search. Instead, you ******* are trying to ramp up your number of posts by putting some dumbass **** like, "Do a search?"
Really???? Or am I just beating a dead hourse
It's obvious we already did a search that is why we did a new post.
Why don't you actually give some real advice. Its obvious you don't know because you referred me to do a search.

It all depends on what you posted about. If it was " needs pictures of ape hangers on a ________' then I understand.
Just all depends what you ask. Sometimes its not neccesary and sometimes it is.

And by what authority do you claim to "represent" everybody ????.....
I did a search, but am still curious.

I know there are people out here that don't seem to pay any attention, so I understand why it is done. It just bugs me everytime I read a post saying that.
At least offer some advice or input of what you have done or lead them to the right direction instead of leaving them hanging.
I guess you can say I represent those that got that response from others. But I already did a search on that thanks.

Too many people come to online forums and never bother to search before asking their questions... Unfortunately after the 1000th time (more or less) that a member answers the same question the respondents tend to get frustrated and respond in a flippant manner.
As was indicated above... it helps to have a thick skin!

When I search I usually find tons of posts filled with responses telling them to use the search feature.

There used to be a few guys who would get on the newcomers forum and lecture every new member on how to use the search button. It was a pretty condescending way to welcome someone into the community, especially to those who had shown some manners by introducing themselves before just jumping in and posting on the main forums.

How about starting your post question with..."did a search & couldn't find answer"...
Also, the advance search feature helps narrow things down a bit.
