Buuuuuuut...I ride everyday to work. 30 minutes in and usually 45 minutes to and hour and a half back...depending on which "long way" I choose. I mow my yard just before I get a notice from the HOA. And my lovely bride is pretty understanding with the chores. So, I get my miles in, not that I really give a damn what you think tough guy...

I have a Truck I need to drive for work. plus since the middle of June, I've had Grandkids, Kids, and a Nephew all visit, as well as having the house insulated an painted, Mom's 85th B-day so I think I have put about 200 mi in her. But in all honesty, I still get a big grin just riding to the barber around the corner. I've Been on bikes since the 70's, so there were the times I put 15k a year on two wheels but then again, i might only ride 1000mi this year but I live in So.Cal and it's only august!

Getting very close to retirement and for the next couple of years will be putting in some serious overtime at work.A 40+ yr veteran of local electric utility as a lineworker/troubleshooter, our Co is way understaffed, have been for quite a few years. My job requires 12 hrs a day plus 1 hr each way from home and the phone rings off the wall.On top of that spent most of the summer setting up retirement camp, last February picked up a Boss Hoss that's almost restored. Then what time is left take care of homefront with vegetable gardens.
We used to ride all the time now other things take priority.Another year will be able to ride all we want.

Work, beer, wife. Other than that I ride when I want to. And only having 4 dollars for lunch would be enough to **** me off.

Work and Kids (10 and 12).
And rain.

The only other reason I'd take my truck instead of the bike anywhere is if I know I'll hauling something too big for the bike.

Work, kids, and family, I still put on 6000-8000 miles a year though, I commute to work, get up early and get out on Sunday's etc... When they're older I'll put seriously miles on the bike.

Some would say: "You always have time for what you put first", but I personally can't go longer than 24 without riding.

Ahh... Confucius say... "Mota-bike bring great peace to one's mind."
