Default Full gear, reckless riding?

Lately I've been seeing a lot of racing style bikes doing some stupid **** on the road. Just some real dumb *** manuvers. I can't help but notice that these same riders have the full road rash resistant body suits on and the full face helmets. I wonder to my self, "if you're so safey minded then why to you ride like such a jack ***?" Are they trying to impress the Harley rider or to they ride like that all the time?

If I rode like that I'd wear the gear too.

Why is this a mystery to you? Usually it involves youth and adrenalin. I feel sorry for the people who have never pushed the limit and been on the edge.

I did a LOT of things, on bikes AND off them, when I was was young and dumb that I wouldn't think of doing now.

Privilege of youth...

Let 'em be....

When I was young and dumb we use to do all that stupid stuff because we had bikes that could and no reason to see tomarro. Most of us didn't wear helmets, none wore body suits and most figured that if we went down we would rather meet god doing something we loved than live as a vegetable. It was all about the rush, same reason people race cars, bungee jump, rock climb, and I can go on forever. Some of us don't like living in a bubble and like to push it to the edge. Now that I have kids, I have a reason to get home.

the harley is for puttering about ...... safe , homely , and like a nice pair of slippers .... my Aprilia and Ducati on the other hand is for helping me stay young. i wear gear appropriate to the bike i ride and how young ( and stupid ) i feel . dont knock those on the fast sports bikes .... you never know that underneath that full face helmet is a grey beard and a huge grin

I guess I just have a paranoia for tail gating and weaving in and out of traffic at high rush hour speeds. But to each his own I guess.

Nothing like lane splitting at 90+.

There's a lot of contradictions in the biker world.

Leather vest or pants, novelty helmet, fingerless gloves...

I just bought a full face for when I am lane splitting around town. It can be brutal and down right fatal if someone pulls out on you.
