Depends on whether it's real world, or if it's internet bikers.

In the real world, you know who the real deal guys are, no explanations needed. In the internet world, it doesn't matter.

Haven't waded through all 2700 or so posts, but the one universal that I seem to observe is that a true Poser is most capable of recognizing his own kind...

People enjoy bikes in a lot of different ways I like happy people. Ride on, folks.

Hardly. I'm just reading a lot of opinions here about the people who walk into a dealership, pick out a new bike and leather jacket and become an instant biker. Apparently, some of you find this unacceptable and to a degree, I find it pretty douchey myself.

However, I'm just pointing out the other side of the coin. That there are plenty of us who grew up in this lifestyle, long before it was trendy. But as human beings, evolved beyond hard assed, dirt bags with bad attitudes and yet still ride their HD all the time, but just maybe no longer feel the need to be a living, breathing advertisement for a multi billion dollar conglomerate.

You got that right. The biggest posers of all are the 1%er wanabees that somehow need to feel superior to others to validate themselves.

Why does the OP give a rats azz what other people do?

These type people are lost, they are looking for a place they can belong, if they didn't have money to buy a lifestyle, which they did, they would have found religion and become bible thumpers, or they would join a gym and become body builders.

Who really cares what other people do for a lifestyle or hobby? ANd why is it that this bothered you.

My brother was lost, and found the southern Baptist that took him in. I wish he had money, and bought a trike.

I remember two years ago, I was out riding my softail, stopped in at the dealer to try to buy a street glide, couldn't get the deal I wanted so I left, rode home and change clothes into my flip flops and kacky shorts and tshirt. Dealer called and said I had a deal if I could come back now. So as I'm buying the new bike in my weekend street clothes and being walked around to be introduced to each department, I could help noticing people giving me the "Poser Look" since I wasn't dressed the "BIKER" part. Did I care? Fug NO! Some people are just ignorant, closed minded, and judgemental.
