What happens when the transformation goes the other way?
I mean a blue collar guy, who get's his first HD at 19, (after riding dirt bikes since he was 6). Builds his first ground up HD from a basket case in his kitchen because he doesn't even have a garage. Spends the next 25+ years on Harley after Harley. (Shovels, Evos, Sportsters, and more) Even walks with a permanent limp due to a run in with a wayward cager way back when...
Then over time, thanks to many years of hard work learning his trade, he's presented with an opportunity to risk it all, mortgages the house and buys the company he'd worked for for so long. Fast forward another 10 years... after working his butt off working what is now his company the fruits of the labor start paying off. He's making a ton of dough, buys a fancy car, a vacation house etc. Due to the changing nature of his job, he went from the guy sweating his *** off working labor, to the owner of the company who has to wear a collard shirt, (that covers his tats) interacts with the public and attends business meetings with vendors, colleagues etc.
All the while this guy continues to ride that HD whenever he can, wrench on it when he can, but admittedly defers to the dealer sometimes because he can afford to and his free time is limited.
Where does this guy fit into the "real biker" mix? Just wondering.
