I don't think anyone is saying that they are a real biker and that you are less of a man for not being one.

Just a short story here to keep a little perspective. When I was stationed in Hawaii they had a small submarine you could pay to go in at Alamawana and scope out the sea life. After that, if I had started to walk around with a dog bowl on my head wearing a submarine warfare specialist badge and proclaiming to be Captain Nemo I'm sure that someone would be coming around to correct me sometime in my life.

Now, just because you ride a motorcycle doesn't really make you a biker in my opinion. It is more of a lifestyle than the act of just having to ride a motorcycle. I don't really consider myself a biker and I don't get upset about it when someone doesn't acknowledge my almighty bikerdom.

And I agree the MoCo does make some nice bolt on parts, but just bolting on parts to make your ride purdy is way different than building your own ride from the floor up. It doesn't make you any less of a man for adding bolt on parts, and it doesn't mean you are or are not a biker for doing so.

I really think its funny that anyone would get their lady parts hurt over any of this.

Jesus, the back and forth on this thread is worse than the housewife shows my wife watches. How about all these "real bikers" put their computers down and get on their sleds.......

Your signature just like the avatar is something you're proud of. Being a Navy Vet is definitely that I thank you for your service.

My avatar and signatures are that too. and I'm proud of both. Being a dick and building a cool bike with my hands instead of picking doo dads off the wall and paying the dealer to instal them.
You're partially right. I am proud of my time in the Navy. But I honestly put my sig there to help others.

If you read a good deal of my posts you'll see that I try to do my best to help others. Like yourself and others do themselves. That is the real asset to this forum.

The rest is just bullshit and a time filler.

Just so you don't think anything I'm saying is personal, I think your bike is pretty cool.

I have never built a bike from the ground up. I'm just a garage wrench. The most I ever did to a bike was do a 1200 conversion and put on a raked front end. That was over dozen years ago now. For me it was a big deal. But I never claimed I built it.

Today I just do whatever is needed. I have no burning desire to build a bike. I'm content to add a few things here and there; do my maintenance and possibly do a 1250 conversion down the line. The rest of the time I just ride.

Yes there are those on this forum that claim to be the real deal bikers and have a disdain for anyone that just isn't like them. I wear what I wear because they're functional. I do what I do because I want to. I ride what I ride because I enjoy it. That's the bottom line.

Posting in this thread is now part of the prospecting process for being a real biker. You can't believe how hard this is to do on my iPhone from the back of my bike.

Looks like another difference of opinion. Oh well, you don't have to like it.

I believe it honestly tells it like it is in my world in it's original form. I didn't have to change anything. There are lots of good biker philosophies out there., but this is one of my favorites. You can't make it anything less. Nothing beats simple honesty.

I wonder if people who fish get into these discussions.
Ya know, the guys in boats out in the ocean with nets in the water baggin limits and fighting the sea. Or the guys in hip waders fly fishin in a ragin river after walking 10 miles to reach the perfect spot, the guys standing on a frozen lake in the middle of Saskatchewan at -40...who's the real fisherman?
