I got my first bike about 4 months ago. Not just my first Harley, but my first bike ever. I am 43 years old. We had kids at a very early age and unable to afford a bike. Not that I ever really thought about getting one, as no one in my family ever had a bike. They all said they were too dangerous. We didn't even have guns either.

Now its just me and mama. We have a house full of guns, the kids are gone. Both of which have 2 wheeled vehicles including my daughter in law. they talked us into looking for bikes. So we went to the HD dealer, as I like USA made stuff. We bought one. I signed up for the class and thoroughly enjoyed it. We ride when we can and often as long as its not too cold or wet out. I stay out of the wet because I haven't had as much practice riding in it as I would like. I stay out of the cold because I can't justify all the extra stuff to keep warm. That stuff gets exensive.

We love to ride. Oh, and I wear a doo-rag under my helmet because the next size down is too small and the helmet I have is too big to wear without it. (Plus, my wife says I look sexy in it :-) )

We ride with our kids, neighbors, pastor, elders, anyone else who wants to ride and enjoy the open road.

Am absolutely enjoying this forum. Thanks to all of you on here for sharing your knowledge, experience, and opinions. I know that if I can't find a question on here, that if posted it would be quickly answered. Doesn't matter what your viewpoints are and I hope it doesn't matter to you what mine are if I can be of help (Not that I can help much) but you get the point.

Let me get this straight: you've never ridden, you have no experience with bad weather, and your very first bike is an ultra?
