You know how it is , when your the 800lbs gorilla in the room you do what you want and nobody will say a word .

You know we'd have bumped into each other at a younger age gotta feeling it woulda been too much fun for the locals to handle .

Knowing somebody is flakey I'll avoid it , seen to much tragedy caused by those types . Worse was a small group of middle age crazies all new bike owners with less than 6 months under their belts trying to do a pack ride on a 300 mile road trip in mountains and somebody choked in a curve and took out 9 bikes , 2 people got killed . I knew every one of them .

All where the very picture of the classic yuppie poser bitched about in here , white collar all over 40 had all new MoCo gear with loaded with patches and pins , new bikes and doing the " Dig Me I'm a Biker " thing being seen and no fucing clue how to ride . Wasn't the first time I had seen these type die and wasn't to be the last either , the Canyon a mile from my house gets a couple a year easy . Takes something out of you after a while and you do develop a hard attitude about being around them and you can always tell who the fresh meat is .

Never had anyone help me off the road or out of the ditch after I flipped it and went down , always had to fend for myself getting the bike upright and back to the road to get me home . Busted collar bone and couple broken ribs included a few times . That's how you learn to be self sufficient and be aware so you don't find yourself in those positions anymore .
Well said. I can always speed up and make my own space so they can't run over me and I will live to ride another day. It doesn't take me long to see if I need to be around someone or not. I will just leave and make my own ride. My wife is Native American and we did the "Trail of Tears" ride for a good cause, but after the third year and five deaths, I said no more. It seemed like every new bike owner had to make that their first ride. Not my cup of tea.
