I would never ask a former soldier about more information then he willingly give out. I know the game.
The seventies were a good time to be there, weren't they? Ever had a currywurst? I miss that stuff.

I singlehandedly won the cold war, but due to my confidentiality papers I signed upon my release from the air force, I'm not allowed to divulge that information

We were having a meal in a small village not far from the border when a heavy Mech convoy went through town , place was shaking and rattling all over . Old woman just tottered around wiping and putting stuff back . I asked how did they put up with that all the time . Old woman said " Russian tanks would be much worse " .

I spent 3 hours at the Frankfort train station getting hassled by ho's and Moroccan hash dogs for what felt like a week. The mini riot in Mannheim train station was interesting too.

We ran afoul of some turks in a bar outside Amsterdam , 5 of them came into a place my brother and I where off to one side and I saw the setup coming . 3 fanned out while 2 started the **** with the bar owner who had put us up at his place for 3 days while supplying the party and playing tour guide , I saw one slide a big knife down next to his leg . Those old bar chairs will do a job when they don't see it coming , had a hell of a roll in there & we got lucky no body got cut or stabbed . Dager the owner said the turks had been trying to muscle extortion money from the area businesses for a while .
