Back in the 70s the series we were racing in did not allow primered race cars. We were racing on a shoestring and paint didn't make it go faster. So we used grey primer and waxed the **** out of it. We ran the car for two years registered as turtle dove grey.

Hell, I remember when a Tranny was a transmission...

Nowadays, yeah... well: Tranny's come with a stick but that's where the comparison ends. Yikes.

Back in the 50's 60's and 70's we would take a new rider under our wing and try teach them what they needed to know. How to handle a bike, ride in a pack, whatever. Today a new guy is completely outfitted at a dealership and off he goes. Thinking he is ready for whatever comes. For the most part they ''already know it all because the dealer said so''. I try to find one new rider each year to spend time with and give that one person the benefit of 50+ yrs experience on the road. Not too many takers now days but there are still a few. About 1% or so.....

Sometimes I wanna go back to dirt bikes. That's a place you can't be a poser.
You fast - or you ain't.
