I just ride my own ride- who cares if someone just bought their bike?

We all bought our first bike sometime....maybe a long time ago before it was trendy and you could buy a running Knuck or Pan for $600 bucks- but we still had to climb on it and learn how it handled.

Be there to school them if they ask, help them pick up their bike....the strong ones will stay to earn our respect- the weak will sell their bikes with 1200 miles on them, and have their tats removed.

We are the top of the food chain in the H-D culture- lead by example.

Why don't we stop worrying about all this and just ride the way I look at it the more bikes on the road the safer we will be the caters will pay more attention I been riding for overv40 years I had many different brands of bikes I ride a RKC now and love but it all I could afford was a jap bike I will ride that also so let's stop all this nonsense and just ride as much or as litle as you can it's all about RIDING

Aw man, not all of us old timers are holding up traffic either!

Huh? I'm 58 next month and I recall RUMORS of those bikes, but the best junkers we could find in the 60-70's were about $2K.

I think "we" are as diverse as any other group. My worst run on the Dragon was behind a group of 'old timers' on Harleys doing 25 mph and not letting anyone pass. Some example - how not to ride.

A positive version of this idea is my wife...

She "never got it" about the whole bike/Harley thing for the longest time, until I came back from Iraq and got a different Sporty with a comfy back seat and backrest. Then she started riding with me more and more.
Then she got her own bike.

Then suddenly she's as much into the "Harley Thing" as I am. It's enough of a difference from the plain-jane style she always had that I'd call it a lifestyle change.

But I'd not call her a poser. She just was raised to "not stand out" and that bikers are bad people & should stay away from them (and yet she married me....). Once she broke through the prejudice of her upbringing, she just realized it was something that would have always like but never let herself do. Now she does.

I made it through 11 of the 119 pages of this topic before I got bored. But I have to ask..... did the prom queen ever find her stolen crown ?????

Bikers / fake bikers....posers / non posers......

Who gives a ****?

I see where the " Old Skool " riders who have earned their stripes are coming from.

But I'm failing to see why it's becoming a " turf " war.

Are their rockers involved here that I'm not seeing?

Me, personally, I don't give a rat's *** who wears what, what color their bike is, what they do to put the bread on the table... etc......

That's high school **** that I left behind a long time ago ... and with good reason !

I'm not taking sides here ( cuz there's no needs for sides to begin with ). Nor am I trying to offend anybody. But if I did... suck it up, get over it and put the wind at your back.

After all, is that not why we are all here...

Because it's topics like that that make me wonder if I stumbled into a bad spin off of Jersey Shore
