1969 c-10 shortbed, 350 4 bolt main, 750 double pumper holley, pete jackson gear drive timing (noisey), edelbrock high rise intake, full roller valve train, crane cam with 288 lift, hi comp dome pistons 13.5:1 comp ratio bored .60 over, hooker headers, .205 double hump heads three angle ground ported and polished, 100 shot of juice, 350 turbo trans with b&m shift kit and red dog clutches, and b&m star slap shift, 410 rear end with detroit locker . that sucker would get it ON!!!! i was 13 when i started bulding it in the garage, lowered it 5 inches had it painted a candy green with black and green custom interior, out ran a C-6 corvette stoplight to stoplight. outran a '70 440 challenger six pack, ate 5-0 stangs for breakfast, at the track it ran a 9.9 in the 1/4,

my uncle stole the keys and sold it 2 months after i finished it(paint, drove it for 2 years in primer) think he got around 2 grand cash .... it was recovered 2 years later just the frame and front wheels

the reason he stole it was he was behind on his harley payment and didnt want to lose his bike

What size were those valves? What was the area of the heads in cc's?

My first car was a '66 Chevy Caprice 396 with the sport interior. Just like Impala. Had a '73 Cuda 340 and my wife had a 69 Chevelle SS 396.

Always been a (shadetree) motor-head. Chevelles and Mustangs but also KZ's, VMax, dirt bikes, metric VTwins, Austin's and MG's. I swear I get as much fun wrenching as riding. Or maybe it is the satisfaction after improvement that gets me stoked.

Was lucky that I was born late 50's and grew up in 60's/70's so had lots of not too old but somewhat used up toys to rebuild. I don't think it "lead" me to HD's as much as it was just the next thing. As far as cruisers there won't be any other brands again. There is however that 81 Suzuki DR500 in the side yard I am rebuilding for on/off road.

stock chevrolet 350 have .194 heads, the .202 or commonly know double hump heads were amazing, i had the .202 heads made into .205
i think they were just at or a little over 60cc chambers, google search .205 chevrolet heads, you can get all the info you need on them

granted they were a "little" much, they left room for expansion if needed...

I'm a long time hot rodder. I've got a '56 Chev Belair coupe in my garage that I built from the bare frame. Stroker 383, M-21 into a narrowed ford 9", posi 3.73. Moved the rear springs under the frame rails to make more room for rubber, dropped spindles and disc brakes up front. Vintage air and power steering via a 605 conversion. Usual hot rod stuff for the tri-fives.

Harleys and muscle cars go hand in hand: we're gluttons for torque. I had C5 vette with a 383 stroker...and nowadays my daily driver is a bone stock Pontiac G8 GXP with the 415hp LS3.
