The bottom line is some people don't ride much.

They way I interpret "never seen rain" is that the bike is extremely clean and meticulously maintained (at least aesthetically).

I've ridden in the rain when on trips or caught out, but as a general rule, if it's raining I'm not riding. Two minutes of rain equates to all day cleaning. I'd prefer to keep it clean if I can.

I've also had several cars that I never intentionally drove in the rain. That's what my old beater truck is for.

I hate to start out when its raining, but once rolling its cool. I know its warped, but as long as there isn't a lot of traffic I actually enjoy it. Always have rain gear in the bags on the Twinkie or the Beemer and 99% of the time I got my FF helmet too.
The Shovelhead is more of a bar hopper, so it doesn't see much rain, but when it does, my world sucks without front fender.

I cant stand those craigslist people. How about the ones who say "My wife is making me sell my bike"?? I would like to go look at it and ball kick those dudes.

I test rode a new bike the other day, it started raining. I brought it back all wet, hopped off and told the salesman, "Now it's a bike I can own" .................if the wife will let me. lol

I can say with all honesty that this new bike of mine hasn't seen any rain. I've had it a little over a year. Of course, I live in the Mojave Desert. It don't rain here much.

I get caught in the rain at times, as a rule if im leaving for work and its raining i take my truck. If its sunny but will rain that night, i ride my bike and take my rain gear. sometimes i get home (midnight) and i see lightning in the distance, im tired and dont feel like putting it in the shed, so i just simply leave it the driveway and it gets rained on over night...far as i can tell it has not ruined the bike yet.
you have to figure, most of these guys think 3000 miles on a 3 yr old bike is A LOT of miles, so it never has a chance to get rained on.

Eventually I might sell my bike, to get another one or something who knows. At any rate, when/if that happens it will be the first bike ever for sale that has been ridden in the rain.

So help me if im ever forced to sell my bike. My listing should go a just little like this.

Ridden hard........ALOT

High Miles

All services performed by owner, not a CERTIFIED HD mechanic.

All custom parts installed by owner and friends over a cold case of beer....

Been in the Rain MANY TIMES.

All reflectors removed on Day 1....Sorry....

Bike washed when there was down time from riding......meaning not 5 hours a week...more like 5 hours monthly...

No it doesnt have a stinking windshield

Biggest selling point. OWNER always had a smile on his face during and after riding.

Now. If that doesnt sell the bike then well good....because if i have to sell it its probably because something bad has happened and its not by choice.....

If it's raining I'll open the garage door so the bikes can "see" the rainman

Apparantly some people think that Milwaukee Steele melts in the rain. Personally I like riding in the rain, as long as I can see & my hands ain't cold. Plus I like that my coworkers think I'm nuts...
