I've heard the pirate thing for years... I, too, have joked around about it prior to HD's. Gotta admit, they're a lot out there... They are funny!

Only things I own HD is my bike and a few shirts that the dealer gave me.

Rank: Light beard, and tatts.

Dude anyone with a bike like yours has too much class to do the pirate thing.

Me? I wear a lined Carhartt heavy canvas jacket in brown, on cold days. Rest of the time just a helmet sunglasses jeans, Danner acadia or ft lewis boots and leather gloves.

I have a leather jacket like Henry Fonda wore in easy riders (I look better ) I just like the US flag on the back and it is great to wear in Berkeley.

The only piece of gear that I own that says HD on it is a rain suit my wife bought for Xmas yrs ago and she thought it had to say HD.

I think there are two types of HD riders

Those with HD store on their bike and their bodies

Those with regular HD bikes that just get dressed normally in the morning and go about their biz.

I am with the folks who chuckle at the folks with the whole pirate thing going on. Even more so when wifey is on the back doing it too...

I have a mesh jacket with the HD logos. I got it because it was $100 and wanted a mesh jacket. I use it if I'm leaving town.

I have this leather jacker I won several years ago that has white flames on the sleeves and a large "Full Throttle" embroidered on the back. It's too flashy for me. It's a good jacket though. If I'm too cheap to buy a jacket this fall, I'll wear the one I won.

I wear a bandana under my helmet to keep it fresh and wear the bandana when I opt to not use the helmet so I don't get sunburned on my head.

I wear hiking boots when I travel out of the neighborhood but wear my high top sneakers around my area. I wear natural colored gloves I picked up at Sears for $10. The're as good as any of the unlined HD stuff for 1/3 the cost.

I'm not sure how I look to other but I never cared. I wear what I wear.

But since I was a Sailor, who knows?
