Same here. In fact, for the past two out of three weekends it was rainey and I didn't want to take the Ultra C out... soooo... loaded up my XR and hit the woods!! Last Saturday it was pretty... so out came the Ultra. Best of both worlds.

WR's are a nice ride. If you dual sport your WR, then surely you've kitted and tagged it. That's what I did to the XR. However, the ol' XR is getting REALLY long in tooth: I'm thinking about purchasing a WR250R later this year.

I to have been thinking of a Beemer. Back in the 70's I used to have a Honda SL350 that I rode in the dirt...swear that bike weighed every bit as much as a shovel and didn't have as good a suspension setup! But we were young, stupid, and didn't know better, at least until we discovered Can-Am's....
I have a friend in Utah who states that while everyone in his crowd has been riding the F800GS, some have been trading them in on the Triumph 800C dual-sport version, and actually prefer them.

i do have tattoos, even a few skulls, but those were around even while i was riding a honda cbr in the marines. i do wear a leather jacket but it's a cafe racer style with no patches so i don' think that qualifies me. i wear some logger boots to ride those could go either way. no bandana, no chaps, no patches or pins, no potato chip helmet.

overall i think i'm pretty low on the pirate scale.

I like to think of myself as a "high seas entrepreneur", and I'll keel haul any man jack who disagrees.
