I run FF helmets and riding boots. Plus more gear than that.

 

Always wear boots. Wear a helmet when I must, or when I feel like it.

 

Helmet....I have both DOT, and novelty, but I usually wear my Outlaw German style DOT...
Gloves.....fingerless when it's hot, full leather gloves when it's not....
Boots....Timberland leather hikers until my Carolina engineer boots come in, unless I'm riding to work, then it's my Carolina work boots....
Upper body.....cold or cool weather my H-D leather highway jacket, hot weather my leather vest over a t-shirt...
Lower body.....Carhartt jeans, when it's cold leather chaps over them.....

 

DOT 1/2 or 3/4 and riding boots.
