I remember my first trip to Sturgis. I was amazed at the number of people who would wave at me. Man, some of them must have had their hand out all day long. LOL!

How do they do the wave in the UK, do you have to take your hand off the throttle? That would get annoying really quickly.

I initiate waves to guys and gals who look like they're having a good time riding. I don't initate to teh folks with death grips, thousand yard stares, or "Grrrrrr, hulk smash" looks ot them.

I have books from early bike days and the founders of Harley-Davidson are quoted as saying to wave to riders whether they are on Harley-Davidsons or not
So you read in a book that waving is expected behavior, therefore you wave? Really? That's as good a reason as any I suppose,,,,,

Sometimes I wave because I'm afraid if I don't, the other rider is gonna double back and beat the sh*t outta me for not waving. Especially if it's one of those Power Rangers on a Ducati 1198. I figure, "Better wave, cause that guy is gonna catch me in a big hurry with that sexy Italian beast and probably disembowel me before my bike quits sputtering"

About the only riders that don't wave, or return a wave in my area are the pirate garbed, **** helmeted, leather studded, self proclaimed bad **** posers that are so focused on the fashion/image aspects of motorcycling that they're afraid to take a hand off the bars. Cracks me up.
The scowl. Must wear the scowl!
