Some people feel the need to justify everything they do to others.

In my general observations, I've seen many a loud pipe draw attention to a cager, by a fellow rider usually in front of me while we split lanes, and what I see is that every time that rider finds it necassary to "alert" the cager to his close proximity to him, it's because he has intruded on the cager's space or that he (the rider) has not done a good job making himself visible. That's all fine and well, make a little noise to keep from getting run over, and it works, but what kills me is I watch my buddies get pissed at the cagers for not Yielding To Them as they race through traffic like they own the world. A bit pretentious on the part of is riders I think.

The argument of loud pipes saving lives will go on forever, and like the auther of this thread states, seems kind of a *** backwards point if we do so many other things that negate our own safety.....love that black leather jacket and the $20 novelty helmet, makes us look SOOOO COOOOOL!!!!!

Hey, I love my pipes but I think the Save Lives argument has no substance....in my humble opinion of course

Clear and to the point.....telling it like it is, no excuses needed.....

Had to puke for a moment. Must have been my inner 7 month old inside while I was at an eating establishment.

Gee I'm so glad I belong to this forum so I can be told what to wear and how to equip my bike from all the "holier than thou" nannies. No, I don't wear flip-flops because I like my toes, but if someone wants to wear them, or bermuda shorts or a pink tutu, so be it. I like a good laugh now and again.

Not only that, but those pipes are pretty hot and will no doubt raise a pretty nice blister on your tootsies.

I ride naked, when combined with the loud pipes I think that really helps me be saferrrr than clothed and quiet.
