People are usually texting or talking non sense on the phone while driving for no reason other than wasting time. I run a big company and have over 120 employees and I can wait till I get to my next destination or I am parked to address any concerns. Most of these idiots drivng and texting can do the same nothing is that important that it cant wait, if it is an emergency pull over and dont put peoples lifes at risk.

I often wonder how did my parents make it without all these technology......

Again, what we must remember, the people that we are bitching about texting and talking on thier cell phone.... more than likely they are our children and thier children, and in a lot of cases us also. There are those keyboard heros that scream up and down how innocent they are, while in reality i would bet 98% of us are guilty. NOw who to blame? hmmmm our children..their children...i really wonder how much the blame belongs to us being that it is our children and theirs also....

I believe that this problem does in fact run deep. If in fact many of us are to blame then a good start would be talking about this issue with your children and spouses at the homestead. I dont have any children and if I did I absolutely would not pay for texting services on their cell phones. I also would pay close attention to their cell phone usage while driving and coach them on proper safety while driving. If 98% of us are guilty then 98% of US CAN make a difference. I personally do not text while driving, and my girlie currently doesnt have a cell phone.
I started this thread in hopes of preventing any more senseless loss of friends or family, so I hope that those who read this thread (replying or not) can take 5 mins out of their day and ask someone to think about what they are doing when they get behind the wheel. These accidents and deaths will not stop overnight, but look at how many drivers have been removed from the roads as a result of DUIs since the problem became public, and law enforcement stepped up. It is possible to reclaim our roads if we care to do so.
Now this has me thinking... Has anybody here talked with their household regarding this issue? That would be interesting to hear.
