Default Why accidents happen to motorcycle riders

This last Tuesday about 11:45am state route 87 Payson AZ to Phoenix AZ
it is a 4 lane highway i am in the slow lane doing the speed limit which is 65mph.In my side mirrors i see approximately 10 to 20 Bikes coming up on me in the fast lane.
The first 4 bikes go by me and pull in front of me so far so good but then the rest of the pack has to start squeezing in between me and the first bikes that passed me, this causes my speed to slow down, the last bike that squeezed in on me missed my front bumper by about 5 feet, then he had to brake because the bikes in front of him are now only doing about 55mph as they are trying to line up.
There are still about 8 or 10 bikes along side of me in the fast lane wanting to dive in between me and the rest of the pack, was i suppose to slow down or pull off to the shoulder of the road to let these stupid fu--ers line up.
Some of the riders had patches on their jackets something about geezer riders club or something. In the end i was sandwiched in the middle of all theses mostly Harleys.
If i would have continued at the legal speed limit while these idiots insisted on risking their lives you would have been reading how God only kniows how many motorcyclists got killed in AZ because a truck plowed into them. I hope one of the geezers reads this.
Personally i would never ride in a group that big, just had to vent

If you are in that big of a hurry, why did you let them overtake you to begin with? Once they did, yes you are obligated to wait it out patiently until it is safe to pass. The fact you are even questioning this tells me all I need to know about riding next to you when you are in your cage.

The riders sound like some real doofuses. If they pass you doing 75, they should keep doing 75 and make the slow ones catch up. You have a right to be POed.

They are in a group ride, why not slow down and let them reform? Lead riders can't anticipate all road/traffic conditions. Havin them cut you off is not right but you should yield being a fellow rider especially.

Should have just fell into their formation. Allow all others to do the same.

Sounds like the ride leaders didn't execute the lane change correctly. It sounds like they moved in too soon not respecting you or the remainder of their "pack".

It's a give and take world. Well, it should be.

bull**** same to blocking an intersection(exception of course being an LEO escorted ride. 10 bikes 10 cars 10 bicycles. it's up to any group to adjust to traffic not the other way around. OP is right way too many bad riders is most groups.
