Rant alert..Improper use of engineering terms

I have watched this video several times...is there a way to slow it down? No matter how hard I try I can't seem to follow the procedure. It suck's having ADD..

My best friend of 46 years is an engineer. He has worked for a major engine maker for almost 40 years. He answers the telephone at work by saying "Engineering". I accuse him of being an "enginequeer". It is a wonder we are still friends. He has never and I mean never said or implied to me in a condescending tone, that he was an engineer. I guess when you're a good guy and knowledgeable, you don't have to tell everyone.

All that school time often gives them an ego (as in post #1 of this thread) that often shuts down their willingness to hear what the "hands on" guys are telling them.
Thus the comments like this are plentiful all over the world:

I am an Engineer. I have a hella of a lot of real world experience. I work out in the middle of the ocean and cant call the Maytag man out when **** breaks.

Sorry I am a sailor and cant finish a sentence without the F word in it so most people I talk to are actually at a higher level than me...lol
