POOP has hit the fan in NY...
Well the 'loud pipes save lives' people have finally done it. My friend owns an inspection station/garage in upstate N.Y. and another mutual friend stopped in tonight for a beer who happens to be a NYS Safety Inspector and showed me the email paper. I obviously didn't ask to publish it but it amounts to major changes to mods on exhausts in NY. I'd suggest doing a search for the details...ONLY good thing is that I read was that it still is apparently up to the facility to decide if it is 'excessive'. FOR NOW! No SPL readings yet.. BUT you better hope you have baffles and none of those crap sounding straight drags on your scoot here! More to come... OH and by the way-I'm sure the price of stock exhausts will climb dramatically in the NYS markets! Don't sell yours yet!

Delaware had it and used to actually measure the decibles. They have just suspended it and will pass anything. I ran my Deuce through the other day and was talking to the inspection guy about it.

Here in Pa we have to run baffles (at time of inspection) and some counties have a "engine over revving" law, but other than that the police don't really bother you. Although last week I seen a guy on a straight piped fatboy revving the **** out of the bike at every light(11:30pm) get pulled over and as I drove by all I can think of is what a jacka$$!
