That's ignorant. I am way too scared to do something like that. Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday. Funny, mine was last week and I celebrated by going to work, not surfing on my bike. Although, since I no longer live near an ocean, maybe this can be a substitute for the real thing? I used to surf on bicycles until me and my brother had a horrendous crash! He decided to ride a wheelie behind me and since he was going faster than me, he hit me and knocked my a$$ over. Not fun.

Sorry to babble, just feeling nostalgic as I pass into my mid life crisis.

Done way before you and will be done after you. Remember this ride the edge long enough you will fall off the edge.

Indian Larry, wished he gave that up a long time ago. He'd be here building great bikes, entertaining us, enjoying life.

My dad did this before the war. As Archie used to say you know the big one. Till his mom caught him doing it. After he got home that night she went out whacked at his bike with a hatchet. I remember dad saying Grandma broke off a spark plug an put a hole in his gas tank. He had to wait for her to go to work so he could bring the tank into the house to solder the tank on the stove.

I hope my son never does this.

Happy birthday, man! I did my last surf in honor of Indian Larry, shortly after he died. Just seemed like something I had to do one last time, but at my age it didn't feel the same as it did 35 years ago, lol. Just ain't as balanced in my ol' fartiness. It was on my Sloptail, but no windshield to mess up the aeros. Best surfer rig I had was my '72 CH rigid chop.

And to all who hammer their insecurities, etc, on what someone else chooses to do - maybe the world is a better place because there are those who live on the edge. Without those dudes this would be one boring place as we all ate our pre-chewed-by-our-Mommies veggie glop.

JR, good on ya! And happy birthday, again.

thanks dude. couldnt have said it better myself. didnt think i would get so much flack for doing a simple little surf, but oh well. got hit up by a few for doing it (none worse than what i hear from my wife and mom and dad) but i will say this: surfing a bike is easier than big mountain snowboarding.

ive never been afraid surfing a bike. been doing that for 15 years. jumping off a mountain with a snowboard while you think an avalanche is forming behind you while dodging rocks all the way down....now THAT is dangerous and hard....but oh so exhilarating.

and also, a rigid is the best bike for surfing. totally agree.

thanks all for the birthday wishes. have fun riding. toes on the nose or a** in the seat.
