People that bring their children to a nice restaurant bother me way more than some idiot rapping his throttle at a traffic light.

They should pass a law that you can't take children to any restaurant that you don't have to place your order at the counter until they are at least 18.

You know what else bothers me more than some mouth-breather on a loud harley?

A freaking whiny-*** little biotch complaining about other people bothering their peace and quiet.

The next in that line is the spineless wimps that go with the flow and say; "It's coming because you people aren't considerate of others."

**** you and **** all the others. I think it's time to use a little bleach in the gene pool and rid our society of you people that put that Kenyan in office. After all, we are listening to the Obama voters whine about everyone else while their idiot and chief destroys this nation's economy.

Peace out.

Huh, and you thought this thread was dead....rotflol!

This argument has been going on since the first internal combustion engine scared a horse. Right now they need $$$ to make up for budget short falls. It isn't just motorcycles it's EVERYTHING. The city of Orlando is constantly writing jay walking tickets (25.00) parking tickets and anything else that comes up. There is no $$$ in solving crime. There is however a lot of $$$ in writing tickets to whoever for whatever. If I find myself in an unfriendly town I take my offense and money to the next one. Phuk Orlando, Phuk Daytona and any other place I FIND UNDESIRABLE. Think about it who needs who the most. During bike week I go just inside the city limits of Daytona to use the toilet and immediately go back into the county. I have lived in central Fl since 1955 and know where to go for a good time and the afore mentioned places are not it. It is not so much about the noise as it is the $$$.

I think the blipping throttle at stop lights may be a habit more than annoyance. The older motors that had tuning issues or weather issues(some motors like it hot some cold), and at a stop light they would need to lay on the throttle a bit to keep the bike running same as someone getting on it to the next light may be a it's a motor that does best when warm. Now if you do this over a course of several years before the Twin Cam EFI motors come out, it became a habit. So now everyone has to learn all over with this Twin Cam engine. And there are still a bunch of bikes hitting the roads with the Evos and knucks. I like the 100yds window up radio on test seems fair. My problem is the laws that get passed be it pipes or helmets. Everytime one gets passed it gives leverage to approve another. And that could get real ugly for a lot of folks myself included. And there are of course the folks that just do it for whatever reason, but I would like to think they are in the minority.

the article didn't say anything about all bikers being jerks. it was about the guys who runs pipes so loud you hear them from a mile away. the cop here seems pretty reasonable:

"Actually, I think we're being very lenient," Massey said. "I tell my officers, 'Let that motorcycle get 100 yards ahead of you. And with your windows rolled up and your radio on, can you clearly hear it?' We don't have to make borderline enforcements here. Let's do the very ridiculous, excessive ones."

i think there's much bigger fish to fry but in all it doesn't appear they're targeting everyone just the real showoffs.

I refuse to accept responsibility for every throttle blipping fool that buys a bike. The same way I refuse to except responsibility for every fool who does anything obnoxious or stupid. I also refuse to get stupidly pissed over people being stupid. Most times just a head shake to myself expresses my feelings toward stupid crap. Not worth too much of my time or harmony of life. I would like to bitch slap some of the whiners and complainers--they annoy me sometimes worse then the fools that set off the whiners.

It was not funny or pleasant. I came up behind a bike on the highway one day and his pipes actually hurt my ears so bad that I sped up and passed him. They were creating what I would describe as "bullets" of air that assaulted my ear drums even with a 3/4 helmet. Not cool at all. I'll guarantee you that a couple of shoppers pushing their sleeping toddlers in strollers are not going to be happy when a bike comes blasting by and their kids wake up screaming. I know it's an old, beat to death subject, but if we don't police ourselves law enforcement will do it for us. Yes, I have V&H Big Shot staggered with quiet baffles but I know when to keep em quiet.

I was out for a ride with a couple buddies last night and three guys pulled into the gas station we were at. All there had straight pipes and kept revving as they pulled in and pulled to the pumps. They were so loud that it hurt . They all shut down to get gas and then all started up and sat for a few minutes just revving again. Then they all did burnouts and took off smoking tires. We could still hear them at an annoyingly loud volume even after they were long out of site. Louder/good sounding pipes are one thing but these a$$ hats are the cause of this type of thing.
