Yeah I don't use that term either....nor do I come on here to bash someone on the terms THEY use. Try to not be a hater and instead maybe a helper.

OP....like someone else said...it won't ever sit down all the way like a skull cap. Usually best to find the helmet you like in store, try it on, they look online for the best price....good luck

For what it's worth Clinster I seriously doubt that anyone is going to pay much attention to whatever helmet you're wearing. In a state that requires a helmet everyone is going to be wearing one of some kind. In all my years of riding I've never had anyone laugh at any helmet and if it's got some special look or pin striping I have had people ask where they can get one or who did the striping. I personally may look at some attention getting helmet but it never enters my mind whether it looks like a mushroom on the person or not. I buy a DOT helmet for protection and the most important factor beyond that is comfort and fit. I think the "mushroom look" thing is way overplayed and my guess is you could ride up to the meanest biker bar in town wearing a full face and nobody would say a word unless you were riding a moped. Wear whatever makes ya happy and don't worry about it.

 

Climb up on a 12 ft.ladder and swan dive off the **** onto your head. That should do it.

 

Don't worry about what it looks like, have you ever seen how much a person's head swells up after a head injury?

 

Not if you have proof of medical insurance or riders safety course. However you can not be stopped just to check. LEO must have other probable cause to stop you.

 

Just wear it. You'll find another soon enough. And another.
