Although I like a new tool as much as anyone, I hate having to pack up in the middle of a task just to go buy what I needed. my last trip was to Sears because I couldn't find my snap ring pliers to change out my broken clutch lever. Dang!

However, over the years my tool collection just gets larger and larger and larger. As I never lend, sell or give my tools away to anyone. No exceptions. Nothing worse than being in a middle of a project, and go to get a tool that you know you have, only to remember you lent it to Randy or whoever. Arghh.....

Yeah, how bout' the 36mm nut and bolt on the rear axle (touring series). So you got to have a huge flat wrench and socket to remove your rear wheel or adjust your belt. Those were 2 tools that were not in my collection previously.

[quote=BBStacker;7057441]Actually the real ??##** is finding out that your U.S. made HD has a combination of metric and sae nuts and bolts. Whodathunkit.[/quote
Could it be Harley is getting more like GM ?? To me working on a GM car with mixed fasteners is more aggravating then working on a Toyota which at least is all one way. Note 17 and 19MM shock nuts. Shock appear to be made in Japan (Shoda??) Fresh USA home made CRES 304 rear wheel spacers.
Less anyone think I am bashing Harley, I am not, just informing you what you need to work on one. I had a 1100 V-Star before my Harley and it was a good bike especially considering it was a 1/3 the cost and better made in a lot of ways but I wanted something made in US the Harley is as close as it gets. Actually over the years what has improved Harley over the years is a multi-national blend of all to make a better product.
