I guess I'm just lost. I'm past 60 now and have been riding since I was 12, and legally on the street at 14. It used to be that simply riding a motorcycle was "manly." Chicks rode on the back. Most 9 to 5ers thought it was dangerous to ride motorcycles, the cops thought we were hooligans, and we didn't care. Guys rode Triumphs, B.S.A.s and Nortons. Hondas were little bitty 90c.c. things and a Sportster was the ultimate. They were so hard to kickstart that no one would dream of a chick owning one. 74" dressers (there were no FXs or softails) were for cops and shriners. or to be torn down to build a chopper. Times sure have changed, the bikes are better but a lot of people are riding for all the wrong reasons. It's a fashion statement for a lot of people, hence the "chick bike" nonsense. If your worried about what other people think, you don't belong on a bike at all! We never did in the old days. We just enjoyed ridin' and wrenchin'. Come to think of it I still do.
