Question about tipping...

Nice sit down places I tip 12 - 15%. Delivery (Pizza, Chinese, ect) I shoot for 20%... I have found that being a regular & tipping heavy gets my food delivered fast. REAL FAST! It pays to develope a relationship the delivery guys (& gals).

i start at the total of the taxes *13%, and it goes up or down from there. if she is really hot and really good i leave a good tip usualy around 30% and a note with my number saying call me sometime for dinner and a movie

you are tipping the server for their ability to make your dining experience a pleasant and rememberable time. So no you are not required to tip for take-out. A good friend once said "if you can't afford a 20% tip then don't go out".

We're a 10-mile round trip for our pizza delivery gal...and yeah, I tip her real good. She's always there really fast, and is usually sportin' a real big smile. After getting really "relaxed" at the house, it's worth a big tip not to have to drive to town for pizza.

I normally start at 20% and go from there. What I can't stand is a tip jar at the cashier stand in a food establishment. My wife likes Starbucks (I don't do coffee products) they have a tip jar at the drive tru. As much as they charge for their crapola I'm sure they can afford to pay their employee's a proper wage.

20% if it's a good sit down experience.
$1 per person at a buffet
nuttin at take out of fast food.
I also HATE those freaking tip jars! Now days, they're EVERYWHERE!
Here's a tip for ya...don't wear cardboard shoes in the rain!
