Default Scooters on our roads

OK, what's with these scooters over 50cc driving on the roads without any kind of licence plate?

I read the Virginia law on the DOT web site. It says 50cc and under are classified as MOPEDS and riders don't need a licence or registration plates.

It appears all types of scooters are taking up lanes on VA roads for free. They are quite frankly a menace as they can not keep up with the flow of traffic. As a matter of fact there have been a bunch of serious accidents where scooter riders have gotten mangled .

Any LEO's out there have an opinion on the scooter menace. I just think they need to pay like everybody else.

The scooter jokeys are 1%'ers. They don't need no stinking licenses.

I don't even know what to say 50cc? There's a guy at work that has a 600 cc scooter (I think it's a vespa) with two front wheels. Because it has three wheels he doesn't need a MC license. He's at least gotta pay the DMV for a license though.

i'm all for more mopeds, especially in city centers to lower our dependence on foreign oil. every other major city in the world is littered with them but the US. everytime someone starts their moped jesus kills a terrorist.

IMO anyone who rides on 2 wheels should not be pushing for more laws limiting 2 wheel vehicles. If they get away with no license or registration I say good for them. If you want to get away with not having you MC endorsement then just don't pay your registration or take the test. You may get caught, maybe not. If riding a scooter improves your chance at getting away with it then get yourself a scooter.
