Default Crap...

So my day couldn't be going better. I get signed up for this forum, go pick up my new Ultra Limited, go riding with my wife. What a day right?

So I get home just before it rains and call my buddy to let him know it is home and he should come see it.

During the phone call he lets me know he is headed for the hospital in Lexington, KY to meet up with our mutual friend that we are both supposed to ride with to the Grand Canyon in two weeks.

He and his wife were coming up an on ramp and hit a spot of oil. The rear end stepped out and then re-caught. They high-sided. She ended up on a medivac heli due to possible head and neck injuried.

She ended up being Ok. 3 broken ribs, mild concussion, a bit of road rash. He has a broken elbow, and a ton of road rash. And their BMW touring rig is a total loss as is their vacation to the Grand Canyon.

A tale of two totally different days. Mine was awesome. His was not.

Be careful out there. One missed clue about road conditions could be the difference between a great day and one that totally sucks.

Glad to hear they are both Okay.We all live with the daily hazards before us,and deal with them as the rear their ugly heads. All the while making us better riders as we get through them.

Spilled anti-freeze is the worst. I nearly tipped over at an intersection stop by putting my foot down in a slippery spot of it. My brother in law also had a similar incident. Unknowingly drove through a puddle of it at an intersection making a left turn, gave it a little juice on the way through and shot the rear end of the bike right from under him. He walked away with some scratches on his bike and a bruised ego but learned a good lesson the hard way. Hope your friends recoup quickly and get back on the road soon.
