Duck walking and generally poor riding skills is not unique to HD, but the "pirate" (leather vests, fingerless gloves, doo rags, making sure all the **** you wear is the same brand as your bike) is unique to HD. That's the pirate uniform, it's just incidental that most of them seem to have poor riding skills.

I always hear/read about Harley riders wearing their "Pirate" costumes.....I may be wrong, but when I see a "typical" Harley rider, nothing about their attire screams Pirate to me. When I think of Pirates, I envision:
Weird cap with 3 sides - Never see a rider wearing one of these
Parrot on shoulder - Ditto
Eye patch - Maybe one or two guys wear these, but not anyone else
Puffy Shirt - Only ever seen on Pirate movies and an episode of Seinfeld, never saw a rider wearing one
Peg leg/hook for a hand - Nope
What am I missing here? LOL

The trouble is when the pirate ship comes in all the pirates are at Starbucks and the HD dealership standing around talking about being bikers.

aaaarrrrghhh... pirates are bad-*** though.
the pirate look is funny when you can tell the dude drives a tercel to his office job mon-fri but by weekend he's donned head to toe in designer leathers, fingerless gloves, engineer boots, wallet chain, doo-rag, leather vest etc... all just to drive to the HD dealership and local watering hole.
some dudes just wear that all the time and you wouldn't look twice and it isn't out of place, other dudes you can tell they're totally posing and it's a bit comical, but to each their own.
