January 23rd, 2010. My Day of Days. Nearly ten weeks after buying a shiny new hip (and paying for it with your income taxes), ........th' Roo took to the road today for nearly an hour of quality time with Stray Dog. ........Almost dropped the bike, but the physical therapy gave me enough strength to hold the weight.
A big CONGRATS and a hey to Stray Dog. I have a pilot friend that says every landing you can walk away from is a good one. "(and paying for it with your income taxes)" your welcome to mine, God knows TriCare has saved me. Congratulations again and many more quality rides to come.
I am proud for you Roo...My wife and I were in Philly yesterday...But we were in the cage...(Not My choice)...We met a lot of bikes on the road...I threatened to let the top down on her car...She won that argument too.
Our little group went to the Philly Gun & Pawn. It was like a bike show! We ran into a group of 7 Harleys and a Yamaha. I felt right at home...a couple of the riders were getting around on canes, too!
Since you have to die anyway, you might as well die from something you like.
Miz Roo put it differently. I have this aversion to heights, and to get over it I started rappelling. She found a place called Warrior State Park in Alabama and after some prodding had talked me into hooking up to a single line and standing with my back to a 100' overhang. The view of the valley below was phenomenal, but I was sweating and hyperventilating and my bladder was suddenly full.
"Scared of heights?" she asked me, knowing how much I love sarcasm.
"Nope," I said. "Scared of dyin'."
Always knowing the right thing to say, she patted me on the shoulder and said "Well, if yer gonna fall to yer death, ya may as well fall from a considerable height."
