I ride with a buddy who approaches his Street Glide from the front left and shouts "STAND BACK BOYS" as he runs the final two steps and swings his right leg across the tank with help from his right hand. This after a helicopter crash in Viet Nam and two near death experiences on motorcycles, compounded by the weight aquisition from four decades of "the good life". I'm just thankful he never misses, cause I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be able to help him up, what with all the "grief" we'd be giving him as he lay sprawled on the parking lot!

I'm thinking maybe some one should start like a "how to" thread/forum on this subject cuz theres nothing worse than an improper mounting/dismounting

When mounting, I always liked the on top position, so just swing a leg over. When dismounting it really does not much matter since I'm pretty much tuckered out.

OMG, this was last winters thread. Can't we be a bit more creative this winter. Please? NO gas cap threads, or flat-spot-on-my-tire-because-it-sits-so-long threads.

Default I'll play!

The right side. Because my trunk opens from that side to get my helmet, or put it away.

And according to the video your closer to grip your front brake lever properly to prevent the bike from moving, without leaning across the bike.

And we've already covered the gas cap, flat spot, which oil, windsheild, heated gloves and etc. with the winter just getting started.

I'm ready for Babes in Bikinis on Harleys thread anytime now!!!

Same here. On and off the left side. It's a superstition / tradition thing really. Left over from the old horse cavalry days. "Always mount yer horse from the left and yer wimmin from the right."
