Bothered by Easy Rider

I well remember the draft-dodging little pukes spitting at us 'baby-killers'. We knew they didn't really care about 'peace', just interested in hippy *****.

Damit, I'm supposed to be home sick, and that made me laugh outloud so much my wife came in and insisted I must be well enough to get up and DO SOMETHING.
Man, that was some skanky stuff, too... Some of those girls didn't take baths for weeks at a time. It was all natural, man.

Making sense of things.
Someone told me that when you're cranked up alot of things like how much gas you've got in your tank and issues like "where we headed" don't matter anymore.
I saw the movie when it came out and liked it. Those were different times. I watched the movie recently for about 20 minutes and turned the channel ....the movie just seemed outright stupid.
Is it even possible to navigate your way across the country on a Harley stoned like that?

I'm pretty sure it is.
As for the movie, I actually think it stands up beautifully as an almost abstract work of art. The filming is very sparce at times, the dialog almost non-existent. Couldn't have cost more than a few grand to make the movie. Yet it's an icon of American cinema. I watch it fairly often. Watched it about 6 months ago with my kids (5 and 7). They loved it. (But not as much as "The Wild One", which drove them nuts with glee.)
