Default What's your definition of a "Metric" motorcycle???

The term "Metric" gets thrown around a lot on this Forum (and others). I know what "Metric" and the "Metric System" are in the real world, have used it my entire life.

Interested to hear what people believe the actual definition of "Metric" is in direct relation to a type or form of motorcycle.

Is it:

Any Japanese motorcycle?
Any Japanese Cruiser motorcycle?
Any motorcycle that isn't American?

Wait, that's not what happened...

In general we use the term 'metric' to denote a Japenese bike. The term is derogatory in that the HD community in general looks down on the 'metric' bikes. Personally, I like and admire most motorcycles, whoever made them.

Here is a list I dug up for all motorcycle manufactures world wide. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._manufacturers

We love to pick on the Japenese, and of course Honda is the #1 seller world-wide. But there are others out there and virtually all of them, are metric.

I applaud the nice use of reverse logic.
Wait, is that the right phrase?
