Been lots of discussion about leather in one form or another on this forum. My question is about color. Most of the guys (and gals) I see who ride, when they wear leather it's black. Why not brown?

When I first bought my leather I wanted brown and saw a nice color. However, it was out of my price range.
Glad I went with black. If you sweat, or if any of your skin touches the brown leather it will turn dark from the oil in yoiur skin. Black is just...well it's black. Dirty doesn't show as well.

I really like brown, it just doesn't match my bike or boots as well!

i know what ya mean man, i was puttign my chaps on this afternoon and started think as i started at my bad lookin self in the mirror " well gosh these would look so much better if they where pink".

seriously though, black doesnt show the grease, the dirt, the oil or the blood as much as the lighter colors do

The world's greatest living biker, Evel Knievel, wore white. When he was alive, of course. Now, he no longer the world's greatest living biker. I think he's still wearing white, though. But there's only one way to know fer sure and that's distasteful.

How about Hi Viz yellow?.....at least my winter gloves are black elk hide. My summer gloves are brown though. Around here goretex works better than leather for year 'round riding because you get caught in the rain so much. It cracks me up the looks I get from the 2k mile a year crowd though, guess I'm out of uniform or something
