Hi all,

I thought this was a Harley forum and I should have said

Anyway back to Victory put a Victory motor in a Yamaha or a Yamaha motor in a Victory, who'd know, and who'd friken care.

Anyway some of us are real Harley folks and dedicated to the brand no
matter what. And another thing down the road those victory's may be worth slightly more than a jap bike and I won't care I'll be riden my 07 FLHX or the 06 RKC and I might wave to and I might not.

It is a common expression:
"What is the beta on blah blah blah...."

google it: "what is the beta on" (use the quotes so you get the exact expression)

It's always funny to hear people talk about something that they nothing about. The Vegas model pretty much became Victory's flagship product when it released in 03' and is still very popular today. And you were very mistaken when you stated they are not exactly high performace. Are they the fastest Vtwin out there; of course not, but for 100 inch bikes they outperform many bikes that are have larger displacement. Such as the Harley SE 110's, Honda VTX1800's and others as well. Put an S&S intake and a good set of free flowing pipes and those bikes run hard.

Nothing wrong with brand loyalty. I just don't let it put blinders on me. Don't get me wrong...I love my Harley, won a few trophies with it but...if something else hits the market in a segment I'm interested in...I want to ride it. I have never purchased a bike with resale value as a deciding factor...When I buy a bike selling it is the furthest thing from my mind. Just because it's a Harley does not garantee high resale value. There was a time when resale was strong, that was before the market was saturated and the economy tanked. Lot's of other factors go into resale...book value is only a guideline and does not mean thats what the market (or economy) will bear, even on a trade in. To date I have made money on every bike I did sell (off road equipment) and they were all Jap bikes. I have also never purchased two bikes that are very similar. It's a big world out there with lot's of choices. Variety is the spice of life...I guess some lead spicier lives than others. It is all personal preference when it comes time to buy a bike...I just don't understand why some people (whether they have ridden one or not) treat the Victory like it's an import when it's not. There are more Jap parts on your Harley (and mine) than the Victory bikes...But I am OK with that because the Showa (Honda) forks you and I have on our bikes do make the bike handle better, and don't leak like the old HD forks did. What pisses me off is all the prepackaged Harley chrome accessories that are made in China and still have high price tags. There is a difference between made in Japan and made in China. The whole reason that stuff is made over there is because it's cheaper to make it there, they just don't pass the savings on to the customer.

Happy Holidays & ride safe
