Back in the early 80's when I was an Admin Clerk in the USMC, we processed a Marine to casual/medical status because he had to transfer to the Navel Hospital at Balboa Park in San Diego, CA. He locked his knee while trying to kickstart his Harley with flip flops on. The kicker went through his foot ripping the flesh between his Metatarsals (the bones connecting to his toes). He was a hellava nice guy, & even he admitted it wasn't his brightest moment. Since then, I've always worn boots when riding.

Rode down toward Hickory, NC last week and I saw a guy wearing flip-flops
and shorts. He was riding an older model Low Rider. When he got off the bike, I
nearly fell off mine. This guy was wearing a Superman T-shirt. I figured it must
be his day off or something.
Either that or he was a Superman wannabe!!
