Riding Wearing Flip Flops?

This isn't a helmet thread - the OP mistakingly compared something used to help control his bike, with something used mainly to affect his own real or perceived safety.
If he wipes it not wearing the helmet - he and those who care about him have the potential to suffer. But its a risk to his own life he makes that decision about. So go for it..
Not wearing footwear that helps you control your ride; now that impacts the other people on the road, that's what makes it stupid.
Quick-draw shoulda thought it through first.

Whatever floats your boat. I wouldn't ride with flip flops but know a few who do. They're all grown men and don't need me to tell them what they should or shouldn't wear. Now if they asked me my opinion I'd tell them what it was, but they haven't so I won't.

When I lived at the beach during summers in college I saw it all the time. Always blew my mind. They are free to do what they want, but the ouch factor is multiplied by about 8 billion. I have a good friend, long time rider, and when he sees younger guys wearing tank tops and shorts in the summer asks them if they will run down the street full speed and slide for $100. Almost all of them reply, "No!" in one form or another.
