As for the bike..It's a D model made from 29 to 31. It was a 45 CU, the first of the HD flatheads and was refered to as the 3 cylinder becasue the generator was mounted vertically. They were replaced in 32 by the R model when the frame was modified so the generator could be mounted
horizontally and later became the W.

I thought the bike might be a D model. They had a couple in the HD Museum
in Milwaukee. That is a really cool place to spend some time. I don't get to BeerTown very often but I always find the time to wander around in there. Thanx.
