So why does everyone in here ride Indian wannabees?

IMO, Indian MC's are way overpriced. I'm happy with my Dyna Street Bob, but I'm not brand loyal....I'm gonna go take a look at the new Victory bagger bikes, just to check 'em out.
I'm only 57 yrs. old, so I'm way too young to even consider a bagger bike for at least another 4 yrs. BUT, that new Sreet Glide sure has been gettin' alot of my attention...

Point taken....Indian was founded 2 years before Harley started, so technically, you're correct, so maybe Harley is an Indian wannabe. I know from reading that Indian was beating the pants off Harley in racing, but Harley outlasted them due to government contracts that Indian lost out on during war time. But I'm not so sure Harley copied Indian's technology. They had to have had plans in the works while Indian did. They just emerged later.

So the argument just goes circular.
Just giving you guys something to think about the next time you hear someone call something a "Harley wannabee"

Interesting. I liked the Indians with the S&S clone engines. I like the power plus look with the bottle cap covers but hated the soft, cheap crank. That kept me from buying one. Still like the lines of the Indians even more than HD's. I don't like plastic metric's and Victory is styled too futuristic for my taste. It does seem that a lot of the bike manufacturer's moved their styling towards the HD look but at the same time how different can a bike be that is marketed to the main stream public.

Maybe the blame is misplaced, instead if harley wannabes, maybe harley rider wannabes, aka dare I say it "posers", they all do research to see what will sell and what the public in general is wanting, and try to fill that need. Maybe we're all too much of what they call " purist" did I spell that right, to comprehend what the industry is trying to do.
What am I trying to say here, semi-old school or look at me I'm cool?
