It's great to see the camaraderie. its easy to get pissy but as you pointed out there is a graceful way to handle deferent opinions with out wanting to an ini-late the other

Where did the whole "fringe" thing start, anyway, if anyone knows? I have this vague recollection of places like "Chess King" in the early 1970's selling stuff with fringe on it. But that's the earliest memory I have of it. What's the origin?
FWIW, although I don't have fringe anything, I had some fringed handgrips once, and it felt and looked cool riding down the road with the things flappin' about in the wind. (Does this mean I'm gay?)

to op. yes you should get suede leather chaps with fringe.. Start the trend all over again. I am getting tired of looking at 300,000 + bikers at a rally all looking alike with their smooth black chaps.
