Need some chaps getting cold in michigan. Think i will get a pair with removable insulated liner but here is the real question.
Fringe or No Fringe? What do the Ladies think? and the Men? lets here it now.
If you hunt, just wear your hunting gear and divert the funds to beer! If you ice fish, wear your fishin gear...In this tough economy you must be frugal (cheap) to survive....All the more reason to use "what you already got"...
Screw (not literally for obvious reasons) the fashion experts, they are all queers anyway!!!!
+1 Fringe is for the gay or the movies.... I guess it might of been cool in the 70's. but not cool now. but then again I don't like the tassles off the handle bars either and I still see tha all over.
Originally fringe was used in the pioneer days to prevent water from running down your arm and getting your powder wet. Also, when short of thread the seams were knotted together, thus the fringe. I don't see much difference in fringe on a jacket vs. fringe from handgrips. Fringe on a jacket is much more practical. What's wrong with being different, to each his own. If you're a poser then I guess it matters what others think.
In modern day rodeo, the chaps are oversized and fringed to improve the cowboy's scoring. The more movement of the cowboys legs during spurring scores higher. So the modern day rodeo cowboy chaps are flaired at the bottom, fringed and not connected from the knee down.
