You should get whatever you like. There seem to be some seriously homo-phobic insecure men on this thread.

Right, It's not gay to ask a bunch of grown men if fringe on his chaps is the way to go...

So, we're "homo-phobes" for breakin' his ***** about it?

I get the feelin' you would choose the fringe!

You resurrected this thread but didn't tell us what you ended up getting. After all it's been two years

Chaps
- easy to put on over boots and jeans while standing next to bike
- partially protect knee (no padding/impact protection for knee), do not protect other injury spots of hips and seat
- not warm in colder <40F temps
- too warm to wear in warmer temps and look weird when worn over shorts

Motorcycle over pants
- just as easy and quick to put on over boots and jeans while standing next to bike - if they have full length side zippers
- warm down to freezing temps (32F)
- have impact protection/armor in knee and hips
- protect three most common strike/abrasion injury points of knee, hips, seat
- if they are vented are comfortable in warmer temps, can be worn over shorts in the summer
- can be used in the rain with included waterproof liner

Nope, it's not "gay" to ask for advice.

Do what YOU want - but seriously, I didn't know that you could even buy men's chaps with fringe. To each his own.

I don't have a deep rooted, pathological fear of homos.

If someone is truly homophobic it is wrong to make fun of that debilitating disease. Do you guys who use that term so loosely push guys in wheelchairs down stairs for fun?

Shame on you... And men wearing chaps is freakin gay period.

Lol. Homophobic. Im not afraid of gay people. Just prefer not to dress or act like some of the more flamboyant ones.
